(What you have to know to rent an apartment or a villa in Lucca and feel really at home)

3)Lucca buildings: Most buildings of Tuscany historical centres (and villas in the countryside) are ancient property restored mantaining old style and magnificence. This means that all systems (electrical, safety, plumbing etc..) have been renovated in accordance with new Italian laws but the structure can't be changed. So it's very difficult to find an accommodation in Lucca city centre with a lift and it's easier to find high ceilings and double flight of steep stairs to reach a floor. So my suggestions to people doesn't love stairs for whatever reason, is to ask always information about the kind of structure/floor of the palace. (an italian first old floor could be alike a second/third modern floor as number of steps)MAY I HELP YOU?
