Parking in Lucca

As in many Italian towns, parking in Lucca city centre is not allowed but to resident people.
So, what to do if you rent an apartment or book a room inside the city walls?
Some accommodations offer a private parking at a reasonable price per day. Just remeber to ask for it when you book, because you could risk not to find it available at your arrival!
Some other accommodations are not able to provide a parking.
So, here are my suggestions.

If you stay in Lucca less than a week

-You can park outside the city centre, in one of the free parking areas just a few metres from the Walls parking map

-You can park in one of the several public payment parking areas inside the city centre (no free parking inside). They cost from € 0,50 to € 2,00 per hour from 8.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m,, are free from 8.00 p.m. to 8.00 a.m. but are not guarded. You pay by "Parcometri"(parking metre), and expose the receipt on your car dashboard untill your return.
Here is their list:

(P06) Via dei Bacchettoni - Places: 228
(P07) Corso Garibaldi - Places: 58
(P08) Via del Pallone - Places: 67
(P09) Piazza S. Maria degli Orti - Places: 62
(P10) Piazza S. Ponziano - Places: 28
(P11) Via Elisa - Places: 17
(P12) Piazza S. Francesco - Places: 33
(P13) Sortita Baluardo Cairoli - Places: 28

-You can park in one of the public guarded payment parking inside the city centre. They cost from € 0,50 to € 2,00 per hour. They provide a cash desk service from 8.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. and an authomatic cash service from 8.00 p.m. to 8.00 a.m.is Here is their list:

(P01) Park Mazzini - Places: 290
(P02) Park Lorenzini - Places: 117
(P03) Park Cittadella - Places: 106

If you stay in Lucca for a week or more

-You can park outside the city centre, in one of the free parking areas just a few metres from the Walls

-You can do a parking subscription for one of the following public guarded parking:

(P01) Park Mazzini - Places: 290 map

Prices: from 1 to 2 weeks €25,00
from 3 to 4 weeks €50,00

(P02) Park Lorenzini - Places: 117 map

Prices: from 1 to 2 weeks €50,00
from 3 to 4 weeks €100,00

To do a parking subscription, you have to go to Punto Polis (the parking office) at Parcheggio Carducci, Via Carducci, just outside the ancient walls.
For any further information about parking and the services we can provide for you, please write to me.

You can download the public payment parking areas map at this address:
http://www.metrosrl.it/mappa.php

credits for the maps: metrosrl.it
